State Clinic Review

We would like to thank all those involved with this year’s State Clinic.  We had nine gyms with a total of 85 gymnasts in Saturday’s session and 105 gymnasts in Sunday’s session.  The clinic was a huge success due all who participated including the gymnasts, coaches, judges, parents, host gym, and of course our wonderful clinicians.

Dave Adlard was our lead clinician, who lead a high energy, fun, and exciting warm up.  Then he went on to teach tumbling techniques and lead our floor rotation.  He closed each day with a great cool down.  On beam we had Li Li, a former Olympian and National Team member for China, who now works as an Elite coach for Buckeye Gymnastics.  She lead the girls through dance, beam presentation, skills, and drills.    Daniel McCarthy, who works for Gymnastics Progressions, lead our bar rotation.  He worked with the coaches and gymnasts to show them different approaches to drills, body positions, and skills on bars.  Lastly, we had Leeanne Chishko who ran an exciting rotation of floor dance.  She taught the girls basic dance along with a fun dance routine.

We also had our state judges there to help review routines and skills on all four events.  This was a great preparation for the girls to start the new season.  A special thank you goes to them.

And of course, a huge thank you to our host gym of WV GTC, and our state clinic coordinator, Gene Diaz.  Gene, his staff, and parents ran a very smooth and successful clinic for all involved.
